Happy National ME Day…

Today is my birthday.  🙂

It’s also the Hot Mess Hubby’s birthday.  That’s right:  we were both born on November 14th.  As if that wasn’t enough, we decided to get married on our birthday…we’re efficient like that.  So today, as my family calls it, is National Stauber Day (our last name isn’t Princess, ya know…).

To help me celebrate, the 7 Dwarfs of the Menstrual Apocalypse are here.  That’s right!  Bloating, cramps, and massive ickyness all for me!  Don’t even worry about getting me a present, y’all, ’cause I’m all set!  I’ve been feeling like a busted can of biscuits since Sunday.

Hot Mess Wedded Bliss – 2003

So tonight I’m going to spend my birthday curled up in front of the tv with my bottle of Advil and a cup of tea…and I’m going to watch The Tudors reruns.  There’s nothing like the most dysfunctional family in history to make me feel like a million bucks when my mood’s in the shitter.

Oh, don’t worry…this isn’t the saddest birthday you’ve ever read about!  We’re having some friends over this Friday to help us celebrate both birthdays and 9 years of wedded bliss.  The cramps should be gone by then and hubby and I will be able to enjoy some cake (yes, cake!) with our pals.  And wait till you see the cake I’m making.  I saw it on Pinterest.  Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

By the way, if you haven’t liked my blog on Facebook yet, you missed a major milestone:  for the first time ever, I actually got to the end of a tube of lip balm.  I didn’t lose it…I didn’t put it through the dryer…and it didn’t dry up.  I used the whole eff’in thing.  How amazing am I?  Pretty damn amazing, I think.  We celebrated over on Facebook…it was awesome.

Today I have no weight loss reports to share or healthy recipes to whip up.  No, today I am just grateful and happy to be me.  I have friends and family and all of you who enjoy my company…and I’m grateful.

Thank you all for being a part of this day.  🙂
